After many visits and internet contacts with Mr. Cédric Pahud, machine designer (EPFZ Engineer), our NGO was selected to receive the donation. His company "BCD Microtechnique SA" of Préverenges / Lausanne graciously offered us 20 type (Non-Invasive) oxygen respirators to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in Nepal. A significant contribution for Nepal which has only 600 devices of this type for 30 mil. d inhabitants and presents great difficulties in coping with this pandemic. These devices will also be used for pneumonia, tuberculosis, asthma ..... They will be installed by us and with the help of an anesthesiologist from the" Haute Ecole de Santé" of Lausanne (Switzerland) in the new Pneumology Center in Dhulikhel (Kathmandu University) with around 50 beds (the largest pneumology center in Nepal) This donation represents approximately an amount in market value of 140,000 CHF (7,000 CHF per device) A big thank you to Mr. Cédric Pahud and all the volunteers who worked on this project! Thanks to Prof. Badoux ( former President of EPFL Lausanne ) for his visit to the donor's company wich give him a good impression of fiability .
